Okay, everyone knows how to make Kale chips because they are super easy (and delicious!) But adding some garlic to the kale and olive oil mix can be like opening your eyes for the first time.
Garlic is a miracle. It is cheap and loaded with flavor! The scientist and I will go more into depth about garlic’s ancient history and medicinal properties in our next article. But first KALE!
Step one: Support your community.
–Go to your local farmer’s market and load up on some seasonal fruits and veggies. While you are there, you will need to pick up some beautiful, fresh, green Kale.
Step two: Run Forest, Run!
–Run home and begin preparation for a healthy snack.
-First, chop 3 garlic cloves and let them sit out while you are preparing the kale.
-Wash the Kale and let it dry completely.
-Preheat your oven to 350 Degrees.
-Line a baking tray with aluminum foil and spread the kale out evenly onto it.
-Drizzle the kale with olive oil and mix until it is fully coated.
-Add the garlic to the kale and olive oil and mix again.
-Place the pan in the preheated oven.
Step three: Wait… Patiently
-It will usually take around 10 minutes for the kale to become crispy, but keep a close eye on it.
-While you are waiting what feel like a lifetime, grab your yoga mat and practice yoga. Maybe sit with legs up the wall or do a few Sun Salutations.
Step four: Enjoy!
–Personally, I think the snack tastes great plain. But you can add some spices or seasoning if you like. (Hold back on the sodium)
